Our First Home

Mom has been bugging me to post pictures of our apartment so she can see what it looks like, so here it is. We moved into The Boulders in the beginning of January. On our first night there, we had just flown in from Pennsylvania and it was really late at night, so we didn't have time to move in anything. We hadn't even bought our bed yet! So, we spent our first night in the apartment on the floor with only some blankets and our pillows. Ahh, the fun that comes with being newlyweds! But we managed to get everything moved into the apartment the next day, including our bed and couch. Unpacking everything, however, probably took us 2 weeks. We love our apartment! It is perfect for us, but we hate the location. We are so far away from campus which makes us spend lots of money on gas to drive to school. It's also in a very dangerous part of Provo. We live with a lot of scary people! But we keep our door locked all the time and never really go outside other than to get the mail and get in the car. It's alright for now, but we definitely plan to live somewhere else when we come back in the Fall.

I love this pantry! It is sooo huge and perfect!

Honeymoon in the Dominican Republic

Thanks to Brent's parents, we were able to spend the most amazing week in the Dominican Republic at the Dreams La Romana Resort and Spa. We had all-inclusive, which meant that every meal was all-you-can-eat, and it was such good food!

The temperature was in the high 80's every day and it didn't rain at all. Our typical day consisted of either laying on the beach or by the pool, tanning, getting in the water, tanning some more, falling asleep on the beach, then getting in the water again, and so on until the sun went down. Then we would get ready for dinner and choose one of 7 very fancy restaraunts to go to.

We had so much fun getting to know the Entertainment Team - they forced us to participate in every activity because we were practically the only American's there so they always noticed us, but it was a lot of fun! We won almost everything we competed in.

We went on an excursion that took us on a river boat ride (down the river that Jurassic Park, Rambo 2, and Anaconda were filmed on), a visit to a tourist village, shopping in La Romana, and a boat ride to Catalina island off the coast for some snorkeling! Brent said it was pretty lame compared to some snorkeling he has done in other places, but I thought it was the coolest thing ever! This was my first time doing anything like that and it was so much fun! It took me a while to get used to being so close to fish, but I got the hang of it eventually.

The whole trip was absolutely amazing and we are so sad to be back in cold, snowy Utah. We will always remember our memories there!

The Beginning!

So I thought it might be a good idea to start a blog at the start of our marriage to keep all our friends and family up-to-date on what is going on in our lives. We have lots of family far away that we miss all the time, so we want to share all that goes on here in Utah with you all. So, if you're interested in what a day in the life of the McCrea's is like, follow our blog!

Brent and I were married on December 22, 2009 in the Washington D.C. Temple after a very heavy snow storm which made for beautiful, yet cold picture taking. The day was absolutely perfect and we couldn't be happier!
