Heard the Heart Beat!

I had my first doctor's appointment today at 9 weeks.  I've been anxiously awaiting this appointment, just waiting for more of a confirmation that yes, there is indeed a baby growing inside me (as if the nausea, extreme tiredness, eating like I've been starved, and heart burn weren't indicators enough!).  As predicted, our due date is still June 21, 2012, and everything is on track development wise.  And, the best part of all, everything was in position that we were able to hear the heart beat for just a few short seconds!  Still no ultrasound to show everyone, and it seems like as long as everything is in check at my appointments, I won't get one until 20 week when we can find out what little Baby McCrea is. 20 Weeks still seems forever away, but then again these first 9 have flown by, so hopefully I can stay patient enough to not drive Brent crazy wondering over the next few weeks!

The Rumors are True!

In case you haven't heard yet, Brent and I are expecting a cute little addition to our family in June 2012!!!  We found out about a week ago and now that we've had a chance to tell our families personally, we're ready to tell the world because we are just so darn excited!  As of yesterday, I am 5 weeks, so still super early.  So far, no nausea, but I have been way more tired than usual (which I didn't think was possible), and eating all the time.  I'll be sure to keep everyone posted as things progress a little more.

2011 Update

Wow, so I have been really neglectful of our blog the last few months. Here is a quick update of what has been happening for us -

I spent my last semester at BYU taking 16 credits, while working 20 hours a week at my campus office job, plus 10 hours a week at my AMAZING internship with Utah Events by Design doing all kinds of fun wedding stuff like this -

Brent got the perfect internship after months of sending out resumes to every civil engineering firm in Utah and everywhere else in the country. The best part is that it's not just a summer internship - he'll be working there until he graduates at the end of NEXT summer! He's working at LEI Engineering in Spanish Fork, UT in their structural engineering department, working on mostly residential projects (big fancy houses like this one). He LOVES it!We were so happy to have April and Mike come visit us for General Conference weekend. They were the first overnight guests we've had stay with us and we were so happy to just have family around!

In April I finally graduated from BYU with my degree in Home and Family Living and a Minor in Business. Mom and Dad came out for all the BYU graduation festivities and we had lots of fun showing them everything that we love in Utah.
We toured temple square and the conference center, and went to a Missionary homecoming for an elder who served in our home ward in Pennsylvania. He's Tongan, so it was a big, very different celebration! Brent and I had this whole pig to ourselves!

Because I graduated, that meant I could no longer work at my campus job. So after job searching through all of March and April, I finally got hired 3 days before graduation at King Henry Apartments as an Assistant Office Manager. Part of my job includes planning all of the activities that we put on for our residents, which is what makes my job so much fun!

We just finished up our annual Freedom Week events which required LOTS of planning and was thankfully a huge success! And I had lots of fun doing it.

Brent is still taking classes all through the summer while working at his internship, and I am just working full-time, saving up as much money as we possibly can. We are loving life and especially enjoying the summer sun! It's definitely a bummer to not be at the beach this year like we usually are during the summer, but we are making the best of our time here in Utah. We have season passes to Seven Peaks Waterpark, which we have been to every single Saturday and holiday since they opened. I admit, it feels wierd to be in a bathing suit swimming and tanning in this surrounding - much different from the beach! We are going home in 2 weeks to spend 3 days in Ocean City and 3 days in Waynesboro and couldn't be more excited! I promise I'll be more diligent to inform everyone of what is going on in our life more often.

Love my Family!

Brent and I were so happy to finally be home for Christmas break with our families. This was the first time my whole family had been together since last Christmas at our wedding. It was so nice to just relax and be together. Aren't we a beautiful family?
